From the JD Technical Manual for the 850, 950 and 1050. Torques for the Cylinder Head-to Block are as follows:...................................................
....Initial....60 N-m..(43ft-lbs)...............................................
....Second....120 N-m..(87ft-lbs)...............................................
....Final.....160 to 180 N-m (116 to 130 ft-lbs)................................
................................................................................
The manual also mentions 950 Tractors with serial no. (012001 and up) and 1050 tractors have 2 additional cap screws added to the cylinder head. Torque them to 27 N-m (20ft-lbs) 54 N-m (40ft-lbs) and finally to 76 N-m (55 ft-lbs).
In reference to your question regarding manual availability. Those are still available from JD. They can be purchased directly by calling 1-800-522-7448. The 950 tech manuals part # is: tm-1192, the parts manual is: PC-1876. (there are various manuals depending on serial #. Have your serial number handy when ordering. JD ships the manuals right to your door. Hope this information helps .
